Based in the heart of rural Devon, Lace Cottage is a home salon where treatments unfold at their own pace, unhurried, personal, and shaped around you. Working one-to-one with every client, each appointment is fully personalised. My hands-on facials blend ethical, organic British skincare with mindful massage and grounding bodywork. Slow, considered treatments performed with skill and care.
Alongside this, I also provide advanced skin treatments including Microneedling, Dermalift microcurrent, and RF Trio, allowing me to address concerns such as ageing, loss of tone, congestion, and dullness through more technical, targeted approaches.
I also offer Sugaring, a gentle, natural alternative to waxing, using a paste of wholly natural ingredients. It’s kinder to the skin, kinder to the planet, and one of the most effective ways to deal with unwanted hair.
Other treatments include Pedicure, Manicure, lash and brow treatments and Hot Stone massage. All approached with the same attention to using holistic, ethical methods and products.
Whether you’re seeking soft, nurturing care or progressive skin transformation, reduction in unwanted hair, or simply to look and feel your absolute best, your treatment plan is guided intuitively and professionally, based on how your skin, body and mind feel on the day.

Michelle Maxwell
Hi I’m Michelle. I have been working in the beauty industry for over 30 years. Both owning and managing salons locally and in West Yorkshire.
Over the years I have trained extensively in a wide range of treatments. My current treatment list is the cumulative result of that training, combined with my passion for ethical products and gentle treatments that work with you.
I believe that beauty comes from confidence and health, that inner glow. My aim is to provide the means for you to achieve that in an unforced, natural way. My approach is thoughtful, restorative and personal.
I believe in doing good while looking after your skin. All the products I use are ethical, and where possible organic, and British-made, above all chosen for their quality, effectiveness, and environmental responsibility. I strive to minimise waste wherever possible and support brands that align with my values, so your skincare experience is gentle on both you and the planet.
Every element of Lace Cottage — from treatment techniques to product selection — reflects my commitment to creating a sustainable, mindful, and restorative experience. I want every client to leave feeling refreshed, nurtured, and glowing, knowing that their treatment aligns with both personal and environmental wellbeing.
